'Heavenly Waters' - NEW coastal landscape painting

'Heavenly Waters' by Andrea Farmer
'Heavenly Waters' is the latest addition to my coastal landscape collection. This painting was inspired by the many Essex coastlines I visited over the summer. Created in oil, ink and mixed media on 610 x 460 mm canvas board. Unframed. You can purchase this painting from my online gallery.

1 down, 2 to go

Two of the four commissions are now complete. Hooray! 'We Are Family' and 'Fading Memory' floral landscape paintings will be on their way to new homes very soon. 'Dying Light II' commission needs to hurry up and dry so I can add the last details and then varnish. I plan to start 'Amongst the Rushes II' commission this week. In the meantime, I am finishing off some other work that I previously featured as WIP on this blog.

'Beach Pebbles' painting in situ

I love getting feedback from buyers. It's rare to receive a photo of your painting hanging in its new home though, so I thought I would share this one with you. 'Beach Pebbles' now lives with a lovely lady in Germany in her recently redecorated apartment. Here is the e-mail (photo and text reproduced with kind permission from the author):

"Dear Andrea. Your artwork 'Beach Pebbles' is finally hanging over my breakfast bar. The wall on the very right edge of the picture will be painted in a very light apricot tone, the door in the background in white and the door frame in bright orange. My mum laughed out loud at the title, by the way, as one of my nicknames is Pebbles, a) because it resembles my name Baerbel, and b) because when I was a child we all loved to watch the Flintstones on TV, and the daughter's called Pebbles, too. Thanks again for this lovely piece of art, which has so much meaning to me. Best wishes, Baerbel."

WIP

Lots of work in progress at the moment including several commissions. One is for the customer that purchased 'Dying Light' landscape painting earlier this year - they want a 'sister painting' to now hang alongside it. The two poppy landscape paintings are commissions too, and need to be completed before Christmas. The smaller paintings shown will be available to purchase through my website when completed.

The Divine Comedy, The Lexington, London

Hubby and I went to see Neil Hannon AKA The Divine Comedy last night. Possibly the smallest venue I have ever watched Neil Hannon in, The Lexington pub situated in Islington, London was a fantastic venue with an audience of approx 250. We really liked one of the support bands called The Wutars, however, we weren't so keen on all girl band Lulu and the Lampshades (sorry!). The event was organised by Word Magazine and featured a guest appearance by Mark Radcliffe who drew the raffle! Despite our close proximity to Mr Hannon, we didn't manage to get any decent photographs, but hubby managed to record a fab movie of 'Tonight We Fly'. Enjoy!
