Lavender cushions
Another Christmas break project. Small lavender cushions. Two squares of fabric were cut for each cushion from ditsy print fat quarters. Vintage postcard designs were ironed onto the fabric using T-shirt transfer paper. Cushions were stitched on my sewing machine, then stuffing and lavender added. The lavender was collected from my garden at the end of the summer and then dried with a few drops of essential oil added.
The third cushion was made from a crewel embroidery kit that I had stitched a while ago.
I like the way the two East Anglia postcard cushions tie in with my East Anglia themed paintings.
