Stock Floristry School, Essex

Ticked an item off my bucket list on Monday night! An evening at Stock Floristry School with friends creating a floral arrangement. Under the supervision of talented lead florist Hannah Emery, in just under two hours, we each produced a gorgeous festive floral arrangement. The class cost £60 per person and includes tuition, fresh flowers, materials and refreshments. Creative, therapeutic ... and highly recommended!

REVIEW - My Little Creative Box

The months are flying by. My 6th My Little Box arrived promptly. Was excited by the preview on this one, as billed as 'creative'.

So, what's in the box? The November box (spoiler alert!) is the Creative Box, in collaboration with Pinterest.

I love the slogan tote shopper (although I already have loads of tote bags). In light of the 5p plastic bag fee in the UK, its arrival is timely. Like the 'collect moments not things' slogan, although being subscribed to My Little Box, you are, erm, collecting things!. The tech jewellery was something new and innovative that I haven't seen before and are now pimping up my ipod. Found the magazine uninspiring. Nice inspiration card.

Cute MLB drawstring bag containing three beauty items. No nail polish or lipgloss this month. Result! Nominoë Gentle Foam Face Cleanser. MLB Crème de Minuit. Baija hydrating body cream. Body cream smells amazing. Have not tried the other two products yet.

Now I LOVE Pinterest but felt that something was missing from this box. I'm not sure it lived up to its 'creative' theme. I was expecting something more arty/crafty or inspirational, because that is what Pinterest is all about. :(

SAA World Record Art Challenge

I am currently working on this miniature coastal landscape painting for the SAA World Record Art Challenge.

This challenge aims to get the nation painting and welcomes all levels of artist to take part. All entries will be mounted together on giant display boards and become part of a permanent exhibition at SAA HQ in Newark. My entry is based upon my ethereal coastal landscape painting entitled 'Earths Diurnal Course'.

Zoo Trip

Hubby and I spent last weekend in Exeter, Devon with friends. On the Saturday, we all took a trip to Paignton Zoo.

It was good to see that the animals had lots of space to roam. This cheeky chap (above) had worked out how to leave his enclosure and go for a wander. The primates were the most entertaining. The kids loved them.

Meanwhile, I was excited to see several giraffe babies!

REVIEW - My Little Fashion Box

Here we are with my 5th My Little Box and I'm still excited about receiving said box each month.

So, what's in the box? The October box (spoiler alert!) is the Fashion Box.

I said the September Gypset Box was my fave so far. Well, the Fashion Box may just have pipped it at the post. I was pretty chuffed with all the items I received this month bar one. Plus it landed just before my trip to London Fashion Weekend which was timely.

First up is a rather impressive mono scarf in collaboration with American Vintage. Love the clever packaging and illustration by in-house illustrator, Kanako. The reverse shows different quirky ways to wear your scarf. Cool. Then there is the mini bottle of Cointreau and cocktail leaflet. Nice and a bit different to the usual inclusions. Although I am hoping this doesn't pave the way for other mini sized snacks and beverages!

Great MLB drawstring bag (with cute slogan), containing four beauty items. No nail polish this month. Result! But another lip gloss by My Little Beauty. The red shade is far too bright for me. Love, LOVE the La Roche-Posay BB Cream and Keratase Hairspray. Have tried both of these out and would purchase in the future. Another fab (and cheeky) inspiration card plus cute MLB nail decals too.

Looking forward to the November box, I wonder what the next theme will be? Fall? Fireworks?
