Activate Spring Show Private View

Last night I attended the private view of Activate's Spring Show at Chelmsford Library Gallery. I have four paintings on display for the duration of the exhibition. These are from my ethereal landscape collection entitled 'Minimal Light', 'Timeless Mood', 'Frozen' and 'Into Infinity - Diptych'.

It was a lovely evening (with wine and nibbles) and a great chance to catch up with other Activate members and look at their new work. The exhibition runs until Wednesday 24th March 2010. View further photos from the exhibition on Facebook.

WLAC Postcards Anon

Here are my two donations to the West London Action for Children Postcards Anon charity sale. I have decided to donate an ethereal landscape oil painting and a piece of wearable art this year.

WLAC are a small independent charity helping children and families in need in the Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea. I was introduced to this event four years ago by artist Amanda Hunt. We have both been supporting WLAC since.

The Postcards Anon Exhibition and Sale features donated postcard (A6) sized original artworks from a variety of artists. The artworks are only signed on the reverse, so the identity of the artist remains a mystery until the artwork is purchased. The private view takes place on Tuesday 27th April 2010 from 6.30pm at Kensington & Chelsea College, London. The exhibition and sale continue on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th April 2010.

'True Love' - NEW abstract painting on Etsy

'True Love' expressive abstract painting has been created especially for my Etsy shop - with Valentine's Day in mind. It is created from vibrant layers of red and gold oils with gold leaf on 200 x 200 mm box canvas. There are areas of interesting texture and mark making on the heart. An original, meaningful gift for someone special.

'Blue Hills' in Etsy Treasury

I managed to snare a Treasury on Etsy yesterday afternoon. Creating a Treasury is tricky in itself as there is currently a limit to how many lists Etsy allow at any one time, and the window for grabbing one is small. However, after much patient Etsy watching - I got one!

I decided on the theme of 'Small is beautiful' and included twelve of my favourite items currently for sale on Etsy with a neutral and blue theme. My ethereal landscape painting 'Blue Hills' from my mini art series is included. Also included are artists Helen Davison's piece 'Candy Cake' and Peter Williams' horse ACEO. Etsy Treasury lists are live for approx two days.

Works on paper - NEW on Etsy

I've added two new works on paper to Etsy and my personal site this week. These are entitled 'Blue Hills' and 'A Different Light' and are from my mini art series. These paintings are created in oil and ink on 300gsm oil paper and focus on the rural/rugged British landscape.

As they are smaller (250 x 175 mm) than most of my paintings and unframed they are available at a very affordable price. I have recently sold two paintings from this series to USA buyers on Etsy.

The painting shown is over half way to completion. It depicts a rugged coastal path with wild flowers, old broken fence and the view out to sea. It should be completed over the next few days.
