Race for Life, Hylands Park, Chelmsford
Hottest. Race. Ever. But we did it! :)
Thousands of women took over Hylands Park, Chelmsford yesterday for the 5k and 10k Race for Life events. Starting at 11.00am, there was no escape from the sunshine as we worked our way around the course. All thoughts of completing the race in a fast time quickly went out of the window after 1k. At this point most competitors swapped running/jogging for a brisk walk to pace themselves in the overwhelming heat. I did manage a sprint finish though (there was water at the finish line) and completed the 5k in just under 50 mins.
I have raised £345 for Cancer Research UK. Many thanks to everyone that sponsored and supported me. :)
