WIP
Inspired by my recent visit to Wivenhoe, I fancied painting a boat. Here's my semi-abstract version of an old blue rowing boat on the shoreline with some wild poppies. I've incorporated some areas of texture and mark making. The poppies add a splash of vibrant colour and balance the composition. It needs a bit more work though. The other painting is an abstract coastal poppy scene on paper.
I am always impressed by how many works you seem to create, always with the same high standard. You must start painting as soon as you get in from work, then only stop at bed-time!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwh, thanks Aitch. I met another artist last week who is working in a bar part-time and a cafe part-time as well as painting and doing other creative stuff. Such is the economic climate, I'm afraid. In my case, it does mean that I am very focused when it comes to my painting time - and whatever I am doing throughout the day I'm probably also thinking about what I am going to create next! :)
