Brightlingsea beach huts

Yesterday, I visited the coastal town of Brightlingsea and took some reference photos for my coastal landscape paintings. I found the hundreds of beach huts situated along the shoreline totally adorable. Painted in cheery colours and in various shapes and sizes, they made me smile despite the dull and wet weather. Brightlingsea in a tiny, quaint town in Essex with a population of around 8,500 people.

I'm so inspired by the beach huts, that I plan to create a collection of small paintings based on them. I think they will make a colourful addition to my essex coastal scene collection. I've already started sketching some ideas in my sketchbook, which I will share with you shortly.
